A Soil Health Card (SHC) is a printed report card that gives you the status of 12 soil nutrients in your land: N, P, K (macro), S (secondary), and Zn, Fe, Cu, Mn, B (micro), plus pH and organic carbon. It includes crop-specific fertilizer recommendations.
Government officials collect soil samples from your field (one per 2.5 acres). Samples are tested at soil testing labs. Results are available online and as a printed card within 30 days.
The card recommends the exact quantity of urea, DAP, MOP, zinc sulphate, etc., for each crop in your rotation. Farmers who follow SHC recommendations save ₹1,500–₹4,000/acre on fertilizers annually while maintaining or improving yield.
